4 Private Pottery Lessons
The best way to improve as a potter is through repetition. This is a series of 4 lessons (2 hours each) for beginners, intermediates or novices — no experience necessary. We’ll focus on cups, bowls or vases, whichever you prefer. 2 of your pieces will be glazed (by me) and fired. With 4 lessons, we have the opportunity to explore trimming the foot ring, which is the next step after throwing.
One-on-one session. Location is Piedmont, California.
One session per week for 4 weeks in a row — please select a day of the week that works for you, and then we’ll coordinate on the start date. : )
Skills we will cover include wedging, centering, opening and pulling walls to make a cylinder. From there, we have the option of continuing to a bowl or vase shape.
By choosing a series of 4 sessions there is an opportunity for growth and improvement through repeated exercises and exploration into trimming which is the next step after throwing.
All clay and tools supplied.
